Abstract

This research aims to analyze the quality control of sock products at PD Kalvin, a home industry company that produces socks. The main focus of this research is identifying types of product defects, factors causing defects, as well as proposals for quality improvements to minimize product defects. The method used in this research is Seven tools, which consists of inspection sheets, histograms, Pareto diagrams, control charts, flow diagrams, scatter diagrams and cause-and-effect diagrams. The results of the study indicate that the dominant types of defects in sock products at PD Kalvin are torn defects with 949 pairs of units and dirty defects with 1,518 units. The more dominant type of defect is dirty defects at 60%, followed by torn defects at 40%. Proposals for improvement include regular machine maintenance, stricter production supervision, employee training, and maintaining a clean production environment.
