Abstract

The design of an areca nut splitting machine with four cutting blades and an electric motor is an innovative solution to improve the efficiency of areca nut processing. The machine is designed to help farmers split betel nuts quickly and easily. The cutting knives are symmetrically placed to ensure a uniform cut, while the electric motor provides stable and efficient power. The system is equipped with a safety device that ensures safety during use, stopping operation in the event of a problem. The machine offers advantages in terms of productivity, reducing the time and labour required. The size of the fruit pieces can be customised according to user requirements. The research process included designing the machine, selecting suitable materials, and operational tests to ensure performance and safety. The tests showed that the machine significantly helps farmers in speeding up and securing the areca nut crushing process. With this machine, farmers can improve their welfare, reduce manual labour, and add value to betel nut products. This machine also has the potential to be the first step in the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural technology.
