General Guidelines

Buana Komunikasi is a scientific journal that publishes articles primarily based on research related to communication studies, including public communication, organizational communication, political communication, cultural communication, communication ethics, religious communication, and other relevant topics. The journal also accepts scholarly ideas, theoretical and conceptual studies, as well as practical applications contributed by academics and practitioners in the field of communication.

Submitted articles must be original and not previously published or under consideration in any other journal or media. Articles should be written in Bahasa Indonesia following the Enhanced Spelling System (EYD) and must include abstracts and keywords in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the editorial email of Jurnal Buana Komunikasi, accompanied by the author's biography, which includes full name (without academic titles), place and date of birth, highest educational attainment, occupation, complete residential and work address, as well as telephone number, fax, and email for correspondence purposes.

The editorial team reserves the right to edit submitted articles without altering their meaning. Authors are solely responsible for the content of their articles. The editorial team also has the right to reject submissions with an explanation but is not obligated to return rejected articles to the respective authors.

Specific Guidelines

All manuscripts, from the title to the conclusion, should be typed with 1.5 line spacing, within a length of 10–20 pages, on A4-sized paper, using Times New Roman font, size 12, with the following margins: right 4 cm, left 3 cm, top 4 cm, and bottom 3 cm.

Paragraphs should be indented by 0.75 cm (as shown on the ruler menu in Word). Titles should not include numbers or letters.

Citation style follows the in-note (inline citation) format rather than footnotes or endnotes.

Articles should adhere to the following structure:

  1. Title: Written in bold, with each word capitalized except for conjunctions and prepositions. Font size: 14, single-spaced.

  2. Author’s Name: Written in full without academic titles, font size: 12. If multiple authors, use "and" (not &).

  5. Introduction: Contains background, research problem, objectives and significance, theoretical/conceptual framework, and hypotheses (if any).

Additionally, the literature review develops a conceptual framework that serves as the basis for the research, guiding the study’s methodology and analysis.
  7. Research Methodology (if applicable): Describes the research methods used.

  8. Research Findings or Discussion: Includes data descriptions, analysis, and interpretation.
